with the product for a while, it's pretty easy to get things done in net.commerce. I have now worked for about one week with Net.Commerce, still waiting for the real prject, but I share your opinion, Kyle. The first few days working with it are very confusing but after you understand the principles and concepts it's not too difficult to customise the system for your needs. The thing that I don't like is that for further customisation you have to write your own code in C++. Especially if you are not using the system for shopping in the US area. In Europe the shopping/payment process is different, that means writing our own OFs may be necessary. Why didn't IBM implement a kind of gateway from the supplied DLLs to let's say Java code which is much easier to build and maintain (and platform-independent)? Or put more features into Net.Data so that OFs could be completely avoided? The supplied Store Creator is not of much use. There is no way other than coding your own macros, the demos can help a bit to see what's possible. Nevertheless I think NC has a big potential and I hope to get the 3.2 version soon (i.e. for the Net.Data upgrade). Regards, Juergen Sent via Deja.com
