Hi, I want to lay down a full 62 min DV tape's worth of footage and export to DVD with timecode burnt in for translating / tran_script_ion purposes. Do i have to capture the whole tape, then lay it onto the timeline and apply the timecode generator (still not quite sure how to do this) ? Or is there any way I can bypass having to capture the whole tape, as it will be a massive file size? running FCP 5.1 on G5 power mac Sony HDR FX1 Thanks for any speedy responses, chris

That sounds more like it Ed. Would that have to be a TV-_style_ DVD p_layer_ with a recording function? And would it be able to record live? I imagine it wouldn't work with my computer as it doesn't have the A/V input. C
